Air Borealis pilot Zoie Michelin has made the transition to the left seat, having qualified as a Captain with the airline. Zoie is a Nunatsiavut Beneficiary from North West River. In a social media post after her first flight on the way to becoming a First Officer in April 2022, she wrote about flying over her home town:
When I did my first training flight with Air Borealis we flew over my home town of North West River, and I almost got emotional because I’ve wanted to work with Air Borealis ever since I first applied to flight school! Also the realization of how far I’ve come to get to this point.
I am truly thankful for all the support I’ve received since I began my aviation journey!
The Nunatsiavut Group of Companies is a one-third owner of Air Borealis. The airline marked its 9th year in business on June 17.
