NGC and its partners rolled out the red carpet for the kids in the lead-up to the holiday season. On December 6, PAL Airlines and Air Borealis delighted several children from the north coast and Upper Lake Melville with a flight to the North Pole. The next weekend, Air Borealis flew Santa Claus and members of the Happy Valley-Goose Bay Rotary Club on the annual Santa to the Coast excursion to Nain and Natuashish, continuing a tradition started about 65 years ago when the Royal Canadian Air Force and the Royal Air Force (UK) began collecting gifts for children on the coast.
Santa to the Coast is made possible through the volunteer spirit of the Rotary Club and community minded sponsors such as Torngait Services Inc., Air Borealis, and PAL Airlines. TSI made a $2200 donation to this year’s event, which provided a gift and treats to the children that Santa met on his recent journey.
